CLAW – Crisis Management Workshop
GÉANT was hosting a crisis management workshop for the European NRENs and the European R6E networking community – CLAW. CLAW had place in University of Malaga, 12-13 November 2018.
Topics:
- How well is your organisation prepared for a network or cyber crisis?
- Do you have crisis management procedures in place?
- Do you know who should be involved when crisis hits?
- And do you know how to reach out to – and work with – other organisations, in the eventuality of a pan-European crisis?
Objectives:
- Ensuring awareness of crisis management as a priority throughout the community;
- Ensuring all NRENs have the tools and guidelines to form or enhance their crisis management plans and procedures;
- Creating a common understanding and terminology to deal with crises on a European (long term: global) scale;
- Kickstart an overarching Crisis Management community to share best practices.
- Everyone goes away with at least one point of action on crisis management.
Was explored these questions and many more during the second CLAW – Crisis Management Event in Malaga, Spain on 12 – 13 November 2018. Representatives from Communications, NOC, CSIRT and Information Security Management was joining CLAW ; we was working together as a unit and represent our NREN in a simulation exercise. Together, we had experience a crisis situation, exchanged knowledge and best practices and worked on skills to deal with such scenarios successfully.
